- Day 1-5 - Arrival & Sunset Boat Safari
Guests will be picked up from Maun Airport by our guide, Fred, who will assist with your luggage and escort you to the transfer vehicle, transport from Maun Airport to Boro Boat Station in the Okavango Delta with our Game Viewer. Board our motorized boat and begin your journey to Chief’s Island, where you will arrive at Camp Hippo for the first night of your stay.
Arrive at camp near Chief’s Island and settle into the rhythm of the Delta. After a relaxed lunch and briefing, head out on your first motorized boat safari through winding channels and open lagoons. Keep watch for elephants along the water’s edge, hippos surfacing nearby, and fish eagles calling overhead. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and your first evening under the stars.

- Day 2-5 - Exploring the Inner Channels
An early morning start after breakfast takes you deeper into the waterways surrounding Chief’s Island. The cooler hours are ideal for wildlife activity, with chances to spot crocodiles basking on riverbanks, red lechwe moving across the floodplains, and large buffalo herds pushing through the reeds.
Return to camp for brunch and a relaxed rest during the midday heat. In the afternoon, head out again on a boat safari, drifting through quieter lagoons as the water reflects soft golden light and wildlife gathers along the edges.
The day closes back at camp with dinner under open skies, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness settling into night.

- Day 3-5 - Into the Heart of the Delta
Today is a dedicated full-day motorized boat safari exploring the remote waterways and wildlife-rich channels around Chief’s Island. You’ll travel through a network of open lagoons and narrow papyrus corridors, where elephants wade between islands, hippos surface in pods, and birdlife fills the air. Your guide interprets tracks, behavior, and seasonal movements as you go deeper into untouched areas. A stop at a quiet island offers time to rest, observe, and take in the stillness of the Delta before continuing into more secluded floodplains rarely visited by others. As the light softens, return to camp for a well-prepared dinner and an evening of stories shared around the fire.

- Day 4-5 - Wildlife Safari
Begin the morning with a slow-paced boat safari around Chief’s Island, offering a peaceful opportunity to observe wildlife movements along the waterways. The calm channels and soft morning light create ideal conditions for birdwatching and quiet wildlife viewing.
After returning to camp, guests enjoy brunch followed by time to relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings of the Okavango Delta.
In the late afternoon, set out on a final extended sunset cruise, where elephants are often seen crossing channels and hippos become increasingly active as evening approaches. The experience concludes with golden light over the water before returning to camp.

- Day 5-5 - Sunrise Cruise & Departure
Guests begin the morning with breakfast at camp before preparing for departure. After breakfast, they board a boat transfer and journey through the tranquil waterways of the Okavango Delta, as the early light reflects across mist-covered channels and the bush slowly comes to life.
This final water-based journey offers one last opportunity to absorb the sights and sounds of the Delta, with birdlife active along the reed beds and the peaceful rhythm of the waterways guiding the way. Guests are then transferred onward, carrying with them lasting memories of the landscapes and wildlife around Chief’s Island.

Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, also known as Gaborone Airport, is the main airport in Botswana. It is located 15 km from Gaborone, the capital.For travellers, it is more common to fly into Maun Airport (MUB) and Kasana Airport (BBK). When combining a safari in Botswana with a visit to Victoria Falls, it is common to fly into Maun and depart from Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) in Zimbabwe or Livingstone Airport (LVI) in Zambia.Most visitors to Botswana will have a stopover in South Africa to pick up a direct flight from OR Tambo International Airport (JNB), Johannesburg or Cape Town International Airport (CPT).In most cases, your tour operator will collect you from the airport and will arrange all further transportation.
