Rwanda is a beautiful lush green, landlocked country in the heart of Africa, known as "the land of a thousand hills". This destination is rich in flora and fauna and has stunning natural beauty with its scenic rolling hills as far as the eyes can see. The country hosts many rare species of animals including numerous endemic species of birds, Akagera National Park, a great location for safari and Nyungwe, one of the oldest continuously forested locations in the world with its spectacular scenery and primate viewing. And on the slopes of the Virunga volcanoes themselves, you can meet and walk amongst a family of endangered mountain gorillas. The pinnacle of wildlife experiences, to spend an hour in the company of a remarkably gentle silverback gorilla is an encounter unlike any other on Earth. Professionally operated activities will take you on a journey to the blue waters of Lake Kivu, down stunning rivers and through the countryside where you will gain a fascinating insight into rural communities. You'll also discover that Kigali, the capital, is one of the vibrant and cleanest cities in Africa.

- Day 2 - Explore Kigali's Vibrant neighborhoods - Learn the HistoryRight after breakfasts, you will be picked up by your guide to kick off for Kigali city tour where you will visit different attractions in the city including Kigali Genocide memorial, Belgian memorial and Nyamirambo women center. - Day 3 - Transfer to Akagera NP - Game drives and Boat Ride on Lake ISet off early to find the best wildlife and explore the low-lying plains, savannah, woodlands, wetlands and some of the dozen lakes that comprise this special place. With common sightings of zebra, giraffe, buffalo, topi, and lots of impala, you'll also be keeping a lookout for the Big5. In the evening you will enjoy sunset Boating to maximize chances of spotting aquatic animals. Overnight at Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

- Day 4 - Game viewing in Akagera National Park - Night Game DriveYou will not only enjoy your full day Akagera wildlife tour but also a night drive takes you on a journey to discover the nocturnal wildlife that is hidden in the day. You'll likely to see birds and small primates in the trees however, if you're lucky you may also find some of Akagera's preditors as they are often more active at night. - Day 6 - Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes & Mukungwa River Canoe oToday you will head out into the forest to track an endangered species of monkey known as the Golden Monkey. Spend 1 hour watching the monkey families play in the forest! Guided by an experienced Kingfisher Journey’s activity leader, you can enjoy a flat, gentle and relaxing walk along the shores of this stunning twin lakes or you will enjoy a canoe at Mukungwa river. - Day 7 - Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Community ExperienceOn arrival, everyone will be split into groups of up to 8 people – and maybe joined with other tourists. You will trek in the forest for around 1-3 hours or so to meet the gorillas. When you find them, the hour you spend with these incredible primates is a true lifetime experience that you will never forget. After lunch in the afternoon, It’s a wonderful way to interact with and connect with a group of friendly people to learn about their lives.

Getting There
Kigali International Airport (KGL), on the outskirts of Kigali, would most likely be your point of entry point into the country. There are currently no direct flights from any North American city to Kigali. All require at least one stop, with most major cities, including New York, Toronto, Sao Paolo and Montreal only requiring one stop. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Brussels. There are also direct flights on Turkish Airlines, from Istanbul, and from Dubai on Rwanda Air. There are no direct flights from Doha and Qatar. Flights from major cities in Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, also require one stop. Flights from Sydney, Australia presently require two stops.
Rwanda is quite tiny, and most people travel inside the country by car. Rwanda's speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour on all roads. Akagera Aviation, on the other hand, provides charter helicopter transfers to and from any place in the country.

- When arriving from a yellow-fever-infected country in Africa or the Americas a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
- As of January 2018, citizens of all countries are now eligible for visas on arrival at US$30 for 30 days. More details at www.migration.gov.rw
- For people visiting Rwanda in conjunction with Kenya and/or Uganda, it is possible to buy a joint visa for all three countries with advance application. See www.migration.gov.rw for details.
