  • Day 1 - Flight to Mfuwe in South Luangwa NP
    You will fly to Lusaka, Zambia's capital, and arrive at Lusaka International Airport (LUN). Our representative will greet you upon arrival and assist you in checking in for your flight to Mfuwe, which is an hour's flight from Lusaka. A guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you at the Mfuwe airport and transfer you to the camp. Ideally, you would spend the night at a camp not too far off so that you can get up at sunrise and then take a morning walk as a morning activity to the first bush camp. Situated in a secluded area of the Nsefu sector the camp is simple and “bush”. Arriving in time for a leisurely lunch followed by a siesta and an afternoon walk will follow tea and then back to camp for sundowners and dinner around the campfire.

  • Day 2 - Luangwa Bush Camp
    The day is spent walking in the game-rich area of the Luangwa riverine habitat, with ebony groves, many lagoons and of course the Luangwa River itself. During your morning walk, the camp will be moved to a second site and lunch will be waiting for you on arrival, alternatively, you and your guide may decide to have a picnic lunch en route. This is a very flexible day and your guide will discuss options to suit you and any other guests.

  • Day 3 - Transfer to Mfuwe Lodge ,South Luangwa NP
    After a leisurely breakfast, you will leave camp and walk to your next lodge, pausing for tea and cake along the way and arriving at Mfuwe Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have free time to relax before your afternoon/evening game drive. Tea/coffee will be served before the afternoon Safari excursion, which will begin with an afternoon game drive safari and end with a night safari in search of nocturnal species after sundown. Then you'll be back to the lodge practically in time for supper, and you'll have some free time before bedtime.

  • Day 4 - Explore South Luangwa National Park
    Breakfast will be served before departing for a morning game drive; you will stop for tea at some point during your game drive and return to the lodge for brunch, and leisure time, and then tea/coffee will be served before the afternoon Safari activity, which will begin with an afternoon game drive safari and end with a night safari in search of nocturnal species after sundown. Then you'll be back to the lodge practically in time for dinner, and you'll have some free time before bedtime.

  • Day 5 - Departure
    Breakfast is served in the morning, and the rest of the day is dependent on your flight itinerary to Lusaka for your onward connection. In time for your flight, a guide from Mfuwe Lodge will transport you to Mfuwe Airport.

Zambia's main airport is Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN), found 14km from the capital, Lusaka. From Lusaka, you can fly or drive between reserves. When your safari is joined with a visit to Victoria Falls, you will undoubtedly fly in or out of Livingstone Airport (LVI), right outside of Livingstone and near the falls. In most cases, your local tour administrator will orchestrate pick-up from the airport and arrange further transportation as a feature of your safari package.

  • Citizens from most nationalities do not require a visa and will get a 30-day entry permit on arrival.
  • When arriving from a country in Africa or the Americas where yellow fever is present, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
  • If you are visiting Zambia and Zimbabwe, there is a joint visa for both countries available at all major ports of entry into Zambia and Zimbabwe.
