  • Day 1 - Arrival in Kigali Followed by a Scenic Drive to Akagera Nati

    Begin your day with a scenic transfer to Akagera national park for a sunset boat tour and overnight inside the park, before entering the park, experience culture village activities that provide an insight on Rwandan culture and village lifestyle while interacting with locals. Continue to the Park and enjoy a sunset boat tour on lake Ihema that typically lasts for an hour, offering an opportunity to spot animals such as crocodiles, hippos and a variety of bird species

  • Day 2 - Wildlife Game Drive in Akagera National Park.

    After an early breakfast, embark on a full day Game drive exploring the park’s diverse landscapes and spotting different animals such as the big 5, different types of antelopes, bird species and amphibians. After the safari, overnight stay.

  • Day 3 - Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Visit Ellen DeGenere

    Day 3 starts with a transfer to Volcanoes National Park, visit the Ellen DeGeneres campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you will learn about the dedicated efforts toward gorilla conservation, before going to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

  • Day 4 - Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer back to Kigali.

    Day 4 starts with an early morning transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a short briefing, before you start your gorilla trekking experience. After the Gorilla trekking experience, have lunch and embark on a scenic road trip back to Kigali, shop for souvenirs and wrap up your tour with an airport drop off for your departure.

Kigali International Airport (KGL), on the outskirts of Kigali, would most likely be your point of entry point into the country. There are currently no direct flights from any North American city to Kigali. All require at least one stop, with most major cities, including New York, Toronto, Sao Paolo and Montreal only requiring one stop. Direct flights are available from Amsterdam and Brussels. There are also direct flights on Turkish Airlines, from Istanbul, and from Dubai on Rwanda Air. There are no direct flights from Doha and Qatar. Flights from major cities in Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, also require one stop. Flights from Sydney, Australia presently require two stops.

Rwanda is quite tiny, and most people travel inside the country by car. Rwanda's speed limit is 60 kilometres per hour on all roads. Akagera Aviation, on the other hand, provides charter helicopter transfers to and from any place in the country.

  • Passports must have a clean and a full visa page for endorsement.
  • When arriving from a yellow-fever-infected country in Africa or the Americas a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.
  • As of January 2018, citizens of all countries are now eligible for visas on arrival at US$30 for 30 days. More details at www.migration.gov.rw
  • For people visiting Rwanda in conjunction with Kenya and/or Uganda, it is possible to buy a joint visa for all three countries with advance application. See www.migration.gov.rw for details.
